Stipe - Patsy Sanford

Mrs. Patsy STIPE age 94 died Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at her home a mile and a half southeast of Shannondale. Death was caused by pneumonia with which she had been ill since last Thursday. The funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Presbyterian Church in Shannondale by Rev. Mr. Airhart of Greencastle. Burial in Shannondale Cem. Mrs. Stipe who is the widow of Jeff Stipe was born in Ky Nov 4, 1821 and thus 94 years 3 months and 28 days. She has resided in the farm near Shannondale for 60 years. Her husband's death occurred about 28 years ago. For the last 9 years Mrs. Stipe was helpless. The near relatives who survive are a sister, Mrs. Sallie Jones of Milton Iowa and a sister-in-law Mrs. Emma Sanford who resided with Mrs. Stipe. Henry Sanford, a brother died about two years ago. Mrs. Stipe was widely known in that community where she spent most of her life. She was a member of the New Pisgah Baptist Church south of Lebanon. kbz
